THE ULTIMATE DUB!

WITH 200BHP FROM A WEBER ALPHA INJECTION SYSTEM AND A FULL AUDIO-VISUAL ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM IN MY 'VW', U PROBABLY THINK I DON'T GO HOME VERY OFTEN.

Why is the lounge the best room in he house? Simple. It's got fat chairs to slouch in, a TV to catch Denise van Outen on, and a pumpin' stereo to annoy the neighbors.  Pity lounges aren't portable...... until now. I have built a 200bhp three piece suite to tear up the axminster.

I've already had a Nova GTE (my first car) and a Reanult 5GT Turbo I decided get myself a proper car and tore into a Mk2 Golf GTI 16V. This was my first project car and things started quietly. I sourced a set of wheels to replace the standard VAG items. I treated myself to nice professional respray and fitted a single wiper system.

I would have left the engine as standard, but all my mates were blowing me away in their cars, so I decided to do something about it and I wasn't short of ideas. Keeping the two litre 16V tradition, I called a VW specialist in Manchester and sourced a two litre Wolfsburg engine. I left them to sprinkle abit of magic on my mean machine and in no time the engine was fully lightened and balanced, and a big valve head with a pair of lairy Piper 285 degrees cams was fitted.

For my next move I decided to go for a Weber Alpha injection system to give it some extra torque and big power  To match my new 200bhp engine I got a stainless steel Magnex system fitted straight away. The car is so responsive now.  The low end grunt is incredible.  I  reckon I've got about 230 lb/ft of torque.  There was no way the 239mm discs could handle the car's new power, so I picked up a set of cross-drilled 300mm discs and mated them to Wilwood four-pot calipers.

With all the mechanical goodies in place, I had to sort out my creature comforts-a bit of ICE. My uncle owns a stereo shop so he sorted all my ICE out at cost price to him and the sound is immaculate, probably the best ICE install in Blackburn. The ALPINE CVA-1000R is not only a CD head unit: it contains a TV tuner with a flip-up screen.

My next move is to fit a supercharger. I'm sure it's compatible with the Weber Alpha system.
